Clean Water
Many worthy organizations battle the world’s water problem. IMPACT’s clean water program is different, and our first system is still in operation some 30 years later.
Many worthy organizations battle the world’s water problem. IMPACT’s clean water program is different, and our first system is still in operation some 30 years later.
IMPACT systems are gravity-based and simple to maintain, so they deliver safe water year after year. We don’t drill wells or install pumps. With no electricity or experienced mechanics in the remote villages, those types of water solutions eventually break down and become useless.
Being involved in building the system gives villagers a complete education on its operation. This knowledge allows them to take full responsibility for maintenance after completion.
In one village of 45 homes, the teacher told Mark Smith, executive director at IMPACT, that for 41 years, the children have not had clean water. Periodically, she removes 5″-6″ worms from their throats because of parasites. Now all those waters borne diseases are eliminated with the miracle of clean water.
We do not exist to build an organization. Instead, our water projects serve as a catalyst for building men. More than 35 years ago, IMPACT invited a small group of men to build a freshwater system for an Auca Indian village in the heart of the Ecuadorian jungle. The purpose of IMPACT was forged when we saw first-hand how a man’s heart and view of himself can change forever. Thirty-five years later, we have completed projects in numerous villages in developing countries across three continents. Come and be a part of something truly worthwhile.
IMPACT has taken more than 300 men who range from CEOs to college students on our clean water projects. These water projects have forever changed the hearts and lives of many of the men who have experienced the miracle of their week in these remote villagers building the water projects and connecting with the villagers.
You can help change a life, one village at a time.
We have changed the lives of over 15,000 villagers. Clean water means 80% of childhood diseases are eliminated, not only for these villagers, but their children and their children’s children dating back to 1986.
a child dies as a result of water-related illness.
You can help.
