Our Mission

IMPACT exists for a 3-fold process:

To change the life of a village by providing them with clean water.

To transform the lives of the villagers by building relationships that serve as a catalyst to introduce them to Jesus and to encourage them to become His followers

To use the water projects in the lives of the American volunteers that come with us as a transformational experience in their walk with Jesus

History

Thirty years ago, Mark Smith led a small group of men from San Antonio, Texas deep inside the Amazon jungle to build a sustainable water system in a remote Huaorani village. This was the group’s stated purpose, but God had a far greater purpose in mind.

As the men toiled amidst the heat and humidity, they underwent a spiritual renewal and it would not only change how they viewed the world, but also how they viewed themselves.

Burdened by the need for clean water in remote villages, and passionate to help men grow in their faith, Mark transitioned from his pastoral position and began leading water projects full time in 2008.

Since then, more than 300 men have served on IMPACT’s Honduran trips, laying nearly 300 miles of pipe and providing water to nearly 15,000 people in nearly 50+ remote villages.

We’ve never had a water project go down. In fact, our first water project built in 1986 is still functioning today!
